The NINDS is the Federal government’s leading supporter of biomedical research on brain and nervous system disorders, including stroke. The NINDS conducts research on stroke in its own laboratories at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and supports research at institutions worldwide. The Institute also sponsors an active public information program.
